Alison Garrett

Alison is an independent nurse consultant, with NHS director-level experience providing quality and safety reviews, advice on risk, and investigation into concerns relating to complex serious incidents, freedom to speak up guardianship, staff conduct and patient complaints. In her previous substantive role, Alison was a Director of Quality and Safety for a large community and mental health NHS trust.

Her portfolio included governance and compliance, incident management oversight, serious incident investigation (including MH homicide and inpatient suicide), complaints handling, legal services provision, health and safety for the trust, mental health act, risk management and quality assurance. She also provided strategic and professional leadership for the duty of candour, whistleblowing, mortality reviews, quality & safety reporting and CQC inspection.

In her work as a nurse, Alison led a safeguarding adults service and served as a  deputy director of nursing for a charitable nursing home providing care to younger adults with complex neurological conditions. Alison is committed to the thoroughness of her work with a genuine listening and engaging approach, balancing findings and good value.
