Ann Sutton has worked in the NHS for 35 years, most recently as director of commissioning for NHS England. She was responsible for setting up the new direct commissioning system that includes specialised services, primary care, public health, health and justice and services for the armed forces and their families.
Before this Ann was a chief executive of a number of high-performing primary care trusts. She has led a number of local, regional and national strategic change programmes and is recognised for collaborative working and in particular for building strong partnerships between health and local government.
Ann is a non-executive director on the University of Kent Council and a member of its audit and remuneration committees. She has an MBA in strategic health services management and is undertaking a professional certificate in coaching at Henley.
