Andrew Woodhead left the NHS in 2012 after 30 years in healthcare management in London. He now works as an independent management consultant and is also an associate with Deloitte. Before leaving the NHS he led a complex change programme as head of mergers and acquisitions at NHS London. He also managed the approval process for the Transfer of Community Services. Previously he was chief executive at Newham University Hospital and before that, chief executive at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. His previous provider management experience includes mental health services. He is also a member of the Department of Health expert advisory committee on joint replacement (National Joint Registry).
