Terry Hanafin


Terry Hanafin is an experienced public sector manager, having been the chief executive of Essex Strategic Health Authority, Croydon Health Authority and the London Borough of Lewisham, and director of public services research for the Audit Commission. He has a strong track-record for developing organisations and partnerships, setting strategic direction and delivering major service improvements and financial recovery. In 2006/7, Terry led the improvement of service and financial performance of the NHS in London, and led the Department of Health team charged with sorting out the national crisis in medical education. He became a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in January 2008 in recognition of his services to the NHS.
