Baby P and other serious case reviews

Verita has completed two individual management reviews related to Baby P, the 17-month-old boy from north London whose mother and two men were convicted of causing or allowing his death. Both reviews focused on the role of a number of NHS organisations and health professionals involved with Baby P and his family, and in particular their roles and responsibilities in relation to child protection. The recommendations are already having a significant impact on the organisations involved. Ofsted rated the first of these individual management reviews as ‘good', and the second as 'outstanding'.
Shortly after completing the individual management reviews related to the Baby P case, Verita was commissioned to write the overview report for a serious case review of a case of two children subjected to sustained abuse by their parents while on the child protection register.
