2011 has been a challenging year for many of us. Verita is no exception.

Newsletter: issue 15

Uncertainty about public sector funding and NHS reorganisation made us look carefully at the services we were offering and how best we could help cash-strapped organisations deliver better services for less.

As a result we end the year much stronger than we started. We now offer a wider range of services to clients in our traditional markets of health and social care, and to new sectors. For example, we won two contracts to provide independent complaint review services to the Lottery Forum and Arts Council England. We also won a piece of work in a major acute trust where we have been appointed to investigate and resolve a significant backlog of complaints and help re-design its complaints system. All these pieces of work underline one of our strengths: providing practical help to organisations and supplementing their own capacity.

We also found the time to change Verita's legal status from a limited company to a limited liability partnership in order to support the next phase of our development as a business. At the same time we launched a new strapline, Improvement through investigation, to underline that, although we have diversified, investigation remains at the heart at what we do.

With very best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
