Adrian Barr-Smith brings a wealth of experience to his role as Verita's chairman. A solicitor by training, he specialises in public and financial sector regulation and business development. He continues to act as a consultant for law firm SNR Denton, and is chairman of its Audit Committee.
As a long-standing associate of Verita, Adrian has hands-on experience of investigative work and recently completed two reviews on behalf of Arts Council England and one review on behalf of Sport England. He serves on the fitness to practice panels of the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the General Pharmaceutical Council. Adrian is also a trustee of Education for Health, a leading education charity for health professionals working with patients with long-term conditions.
