Dr Elizabeth Haywood

Elizabeth is a communication and recruitment specialist, whose career spans both public and private sectors. Her public sector work started in the European Parliament in Brussels and Luxembourg. This was followed by five years at the Welsh Development Agency in Cardiff. She was director (Wales) of the Confederation of British Industry, and communications director for the Association of Train Operating Companies. She then joined an international recruitment firm, heading first their public sector then their private sector practice.

Elizabeth was named Welsh Woman of the Year in 1994, is a board member of the Wales Millennium Centre and a member of the Ministry of Defence's National Employer Advisory Board. She is a graduate economist from Cardiff University with a PhD (Politics) from Swansea, and received an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Wales Lampeter for her contribution to business. She was regional chair for the Clydesdale Bank between 2005 and 2008.
